Why You Should Wear More Lipstick and How to Make It Look Great

Most women have a cosmetics routine that they use to start the day. You probably do and it probably involves using a bit of foundation to smooth out your skin and maybe add some colour, and then adding mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow to bring out your eyes. Now on a day to day basis for many women this is all they will use and things won't often get all that creative or colourful. This way you can keep it cheap and keep it quick, while at the same time making sure you don't look overdressed for work or like you're trying too hard.

However it can also sometimes look a little bland and if you want to shake things up a notch, adding some lipstick can be the perfect way to finish off your look. While a bold eye shadow might be one way to add colour, ultimately no one is going to see it as long as your eyes are open and there's only so adventurous you can go without looking silly. With a lipstick though you can keep it simple and professional looking, but at the same time make a big impact to your look that will make a statement.

Why Wear Lipstick?

There are plenty of reasons to wear a red or pink lipstick more regularly. The first is that it will make you look confident because it's bold and it draws attention to a very sensual area. This makes it the definition of power dressing and means that you'll be turning heads for all the right reasons - confidence is sexy.

At the same time if you want to get noticed by a guy you see regularly then wearing lipstick is a great way to draw their eye and to make them think of you in a different way. Lipstick makes men look at your lips, and a woman's lips are incredibly attractive and sensual. At the same time just a simple red will change your look so much that they will be forced to reassess the way they think about you.

Then there's the fact that lipstick makes the rest of your face look better - your lips look fuller, your eyes contrast more making the colour more vibrant, and your teeth will look much whiter next to your ruby pout. Finally, lipstick is great because it means your features will show up more from across the room, which means you can hold someone's attention even when you're not right next to them.

How to Make it Work

To make your lipstick work on a daily basis you need to first choose a tone that will suit your skin colour and your personality. Don't just go for firebox red - a deep maroon may be more striking, or a pink may suit your personality more. At the same time you should be willing to pay a bit more for your lipstick to make sure it stays on all day and has a great matte look (though you'll still need to check it regularly). Apply it carefully, and make sure to use a primer and lip liner to create a longer lasting and more perfect look.

Great Tips For Helping Your Natural Beauty Shine Through

Each woman possesses true beauty, both inside and out. However, not everyone understands the best methods of enhancing their natural beauty and showcasing it for the world to see. Keep reading the article that follows, and you will have the tools necessary to bring out the best you have to offer.

Nothing substitutes for a balanced diet combined with regular exercise when it comes to looking your best. While you certainly need not deprive yourself of everything you love to eat, making sure you watch your intake of fat and calories can go a long way toward maintaining a healthy and appealing weight. Routine exercise can provide you with the toning, fat loss and strength building you need to get the attractive figure you have always desired.

Sleep is a critical factor when it comes to enhancing your natural beauty. Being deprived of sufficient rest soon takes a toll on your appearance and can lead to dark circles under the eye, a splotchy complexion and a generally haggard visage. Doing whatever you can to get at least seven hours of sleep each night is a great boost to your overall appearance and can help you look your best at all times.

Ensuring proper hydration is an often overlooked beauty secret. Make it a point to drink several glasses of water each and every day to give your skin a healthy glow and to flush your system of harmful toxins. If you are among those who do not typically enjoy drinking plain water, consider adding a squeeze of fresh lemon or using a low or no-calorie flavoring powder. Doing so will make drinking your recommended daily allotment of water much easier than it might otherwise be.

Clothing choice can make all the difference when it comes to projecting the best image possible. All too often, women carrying a bit of extra weight attempt to camouflage their problem areas by wearing oversized clothing. In fact, wearing clothes that are too big only works to exaggerate the problem. Instead, choose garments that actually fit your body as it currently is, and that are tailored to provide a sharp appearance. Smart and savvy clothing choices can actually make you look several pounds lighter than you actually are.

Another terrific way to bring out your confidence and boost your self-esteem is to change your haircut and style. Many women get caught in a rut when it comes to doing their hair and are afraid to try something new. All too often, this leads to a dated, tired appearance that does nothing to enhance natural beauty. To combat this effect, make sure to regularly adjust your hairstyle to something a bit more modern and fun. Those around you are sure to react positively to your willingness to change things up from time to time.

Clearly, some of the best ways to enhance your natural beauty involve things other than costly cosmetics and spa treatments. Rather, by following tips dealing with lifestyle, body maintenance and mental attitude, you are sure to project an image of confidence, beauty and appeal. Keep the above guidance close at hand, and you will always look your very best

Two Great Herbs for Menopause

There are two herbs that have shown great promise for women in their fight against the drastic changes associated with menopause, Red Cover and Black Cohosh. Read on to learn the key points of nature's little assistants.

Red Clover

Unlike synthetic hormone replacements, the phytoestrogenic isoflavones of this herb provide mild estrogenic effects within a woman's body when estrogen levels are insufficient. That seems like a good deal of big words but what it really means is that a smooth, nearly symptomless transition between level changes is possible. These phytoestrogenic effects ensure a natural check-and-balance system in the body because they bind to estrogen receptors. During menopause, there are substances that are able to bind to these receptors, causing the drastic changes in mood, hot flashes, and other complaints. Because Red Clover keeps these herbs from binding, they are instead removed from the bloodstream and broken down for excretion.

Overall, this herb provides a natural way to keep estrogen levels in check, ensuring a balanced mood and body.

Black Cohosh

This herb softens the impact of menopause on the body. While it is similar to Red Clover in that it addresses the estrogen receptor sites in the body, the two herbs are different in the manner in which they do this. Red Clover provides a balance and produces this hormone naturally when needed, Black Cohosh has been shown to produce estrogen whether it is needed or not. While this may suggest that you should choose one over the other, don't act too quickly. Black Cohosh has shown promise in greatly reducing the intensity and frequency of hot flashes during menopause and also has a sedative effect on the nervous system, helping to curb mood swings. This effect has proven beneficial during menopause as well as menstruation.

Beyond these herbs and the help they can provide, be sure to consider vitamins and minerals as well. Bone loss is not uncommon for women during this time and calcium supplements as well as magnesium are beneficial. Magnesium assists the effectiveness of calcium supplements and while you may not want to take an additional pill each day, your bones will thank you.

Evening Primrose Oil and Vitamin E have shown great promise in eliminating hot flashes and night sweats when taken long-term so consider incorporating these into your wellness regimen as well. Other great supplements to consider include a multi-vitamin, which is important for everyone, as well as B vitamins to support your adrenal glands. Because of the rapid changes, women's bodies can feel run-down and a B vitamin will assist your adrenals in keeping your energy levels up naturally.

While this change is no cake walk, the addition of the vitamins, herbs, and minerals listed above can provide a bit of relief. Relying only on chemicals or hormone replacement therapy can have a negative impact in other parts of your body so consider researching how natural remedies can benefit you.

5 Great Tips for Everyone - From Petites to Plus Sizes

It looks great on the mannequin, but how will it look on me? Unfortunately fashions are not always created for all the multiple sizes and shapes that we come in. But luckily there are some universal tips we can utilize while dressing ourselves to help us resemble the super models we ought to be.

Vertical Lines

Shop for items that feature strong vertical lines. This could include anything from zip front styles, vertical pleating, pin-tucking, ruffles, and cable knits. Straight legged jeans or slacks also create great vertical lines. The idea here is to create the illusion of length. For example, a long, zip front sweater will do wonders for your figure. Also, try a solid colored top that features vertical pleating from neck to hem.

Go Monochromatic

Choose one family color and stick with it. This will help to elongate your figure. For example, if you're choosing to go with black, choose a black top and black bottom. Layer with a fluid, lightweight cover to add a little color to your outfit. If you have a belt in black, go ahead and cinch your natural waist. Your goal is to create a continuous flow of color to make your body appear to be long and lean.

V-Necklines

V-necklines are almost always flattering on anyone. If you don't have a v-necked garment, create the illusion of a v-neckline with a vest, shawl collar blouse, or a cardigan. V-necklines help to elongate the neck and draw the eye up towards the face.

Concerned about the low drop in the neckline? Wear a nude or contrasting colored cami beneath the blouse to ensure you aren't giving away the goods.

Patterns

Patterns can be quite tricky, but when used correctly can make all the difference. For plus sizes, small patterns can make you look bigger. Go for large all over prints instead. For petites, larger prints can swamp your figure. A great rule to help you determine if a print is too big for a petite frame is the "Fist Rule". If the pattern is larger than your fist, you probably shouldn't wear it.

Short-Over-Long

Pair short pieces with long pieces and vice versa. For example, pair a short, tailored jacket with long pants or a longer dress. When wearing a tunic style top, pair with a short skirt or shorts. Too many long pieces within a single ensemble can leave you looking unkempt or messy. Multiple short items worn all at once will leave you looking, well, short.

Always Look Great With These Wonderful Fashion Tips

The rule of fashion is that there are no rules. While others may dress one way, you do not have to follow them. Learn as much as you can about the subject, and then do what feels right Some tips that might work for you are in this article.

Focus on the material of your clothing. It is vital that you read the label to see what materials went into making the garment. If the clothes fits now, it may not fit after you wash it several times. Don't waste money on clothing that is likely to shrink, fray, or lose its shape.

If you are dealing with a problem with frizzy hair, never rub it with a towel after washing it. This can damage your hair and cause more frizziness. Rather than towel drying it, simply wrap it up in a towel and push on it to let out most of the wetness. When drier, comb your hair to the style that you desire.

Make sure that you do not overspend on clothes as you should always budget. Since you are trying to improve your wardrobe you are going to want to limit yourself on how much you spend. This way you know that you aren't overspending on improving your wardrobe. You can still get a lot of clothes on a budget, you just have to be smart about it.

When it comes to hair accessories, there are millions of options available. Hair accessories are things like hair bows, headbands and ponytail holders, but they also include hair extensions. Your wardrobe should have several of these. When you feel like going casual, grab a ponytail holder and wear your hair back. When going away, be sure to bring headbands that match your outfits.

Combining white with black is a perfect combination that is fashionable this season. There are many outfits on the runway that use this combination. It's so simple to create black and white combinations using just a shirt and pants or a dress. In the world of black and white combinations, the possibilities are infinite.

Unique fashion really sets you apart. Have some messy hair, don't button your shirt all the way, or pick out shoes that don't really match. Being perfect is impossible, so embracing a little chaos in your look can help you stand out from the crowd.

If you desire to have fuller lips, there are ways to get it without going the cosmetic surgery route. A light colored pink gloss or shiny finished lipstick can do the trick. When the gloss reflects light, it gives the illusion of fuller lips. Dark lipstick can cause your lips to look too thin and should be avoided.

Allow your clothes the room that they need in your closet. Having too many garments in too tight a space can stretch them and then they do not fit as well anymore. There should always be one or two inches of space between clothing items in the closet.

To make an ornate skirt stand out better, pair it with a plain t-shirt. Just make sure your top isn't too bright or it will overpower your skirt.

When you want to wear black jeans to a more formal event, heels and a dressy blouse can make the outfit appropriate. Colored jeans look better with more casual looks.

Now that you have read this collection of tips, you should be more prepared when it comes to fashion. Use the ideas that appeal to you and ignore the rest. You do not have to adopt every trend. This is really the desired action because you should have your own personal and unique style.

Great Waxing Strips Reduce Pain of First-Time Leg Waxing

As a professional waxing specialist with over 16 years experience, I have waxed a few legs and know the importance of having a good soft wax, a great non woven waxing strip to remove it with and good waxing techniques.

A great waxing strip for soft wax systems not only makes body hair removal so much quicker, it saves time and your clients, especially first-time leg waxing clients, will love the excellent finished result.

A great waxing strip will not fray or tend to pull apart as fabric strips do. It is strong but flexible to remove wax in contours on legs, bikini and under arm areas and gentle to use on facial hair.

Here are my tips for first time leg waxing customers. Remember, they will be anxious so you need to be sensitive, reassuring and very efficient.

It is good to explain the growth cycle of the hair. A normal hair follicle has a growth spurt every three weeks and the idea is to pull it out by the roots in the fourth week, so leg waxing is usually done every 4 to 5 weeks. Eventually hair growth lessens and because a new hair is growing it is soft and appears finer. No more bristles.

The hair should be at least 5mm long. I know those who have previously shaved their legs think any hair on them is gross, but if you can encourage them to leave the shaving for preferably 3 weeks before waxing, the first results will be far better. I suggest to them to do this in winter so they can hide their legs wile the hair is growing. Ask them to exfoliate their legs before their appointment and not to put any oil or body cream on that day. If they have, you can put surgical powder on the area to help the waxing strip adhere to the wax.
Removing the first strip is likely to be the most painful so I start the process on the lower outside of the leg where it is least sensitive. With a spatula, spread the wax in small sections in the direction of the hair growth. Hold the spatula at a 90 degree angle and apply a smooth, thin layer. Before the wax cools, fold the top of the waxing strip over by about 3cm and with the folded end away from you, firmly press the waxing strip onto the waxed area in the direction of the hair growth with your hand.
Firmly grip the folded end and quickly and smoothly, peel it in the opposite direction of the hair growth towards you. Keep the strip as close to the skin as possible and try not to lift upwards. This is less painful and prevents the hair from breaking. Apply hand pressure straight away to take away the sting. Apply an after wax lotion to prevent ingrown hairs and to soothe the skin.

Excess wax can be removed with a body oil containing essential oils.
