Reasons Why Hair Removal Cream Is Better Than Home Waxing Strips

Waxing, shaving, tweezing, and laser hair removal (electrolysis) are some of the common methods for removing unwanted hair. However, each one of these has its disadvantages: waxing can be painful, shaving can result in cuts, tweezing can be time consuming, and electrolysis can be expensive. One solution that counters all of these methods is using hair removal cream. As the title states, this article will cover the main reasons as to why hair removal cream is all around better to use than home waxing strips, and other methods; price, simplicity, and results.

Price

No matter what the state of the economy is one thing is true; beauty equals money. There are many different beauty rituals that women, and even some men partake in that can be quite pricey; manicures and pedicures, hair dying and styling, and of course hair removal products. While there are ways to be inexpensive with the other methods of getting rid of unwanted hair (homemade waxing cream and home waxing strips, cheap razors, or cheap tweezers) the results of those variations can be unpredictable. Most hair removal creams vary in price ranges, but the most popular tend to be anywhere from four to fifteen dollars with the same successful results!

Simplicity

Many people are very busy and do not have time to go to a beautician to have electrolysis done or sit for an hour to us tweezers. Waxing is a quicker method but it tends to be painful and if shaving is done too fast cuts and nicks easily appear. No using hair removal cream is the easiest and the fastest method for the people that are always on the go. All that needs to be done is spreading the product over the areas, waiting however long the bottles say, and then removing it. It can easily be done in the shower or while getting ready for a night out on the town and the results speak for themselves.

Results

While waxing can leave bad reactions or rashes and shaving can leave cuts, hair removal cream only results in smooth and shiny legs. Another benefit to the creams is that chemical depilatories are released under the skin. These are what help make the unwanted hair stay away for a longer period of time. Depending on the product, removal cream results can last anywhere from one week to fourteen days, much longer than the other methods! These chemical depilatories also serve as a nice exfoliant for the skin, which is how this process leaves the skin smooth and shiny.

As with any process where there are multiple options to choose from, there are some negative sides to using hair removal cream. One of the biggest down sides to this process is the smell that results in using most of these products. However, if this process is done in the bathroom or with the windows open, this predicament can be avoided. If one can withstand the smell of most removal creams, then this product is a much better choice than home waxing strips, or other removal methods because of the price, the simplicity, and the results!

There are many different methods for hair removal like using home waxing strips, or the method with more benefits - hair removal cream.

Great Waxing Strips Reduce Pain of First-Time Leg Waxing

As a professional waxing specialist with over 16 years experience, I have waxed a few legs and know the importance of having a good soft wax, a great non woven waxing strip to remove it with and good waxing techniques.

A great waxing strip for soft wax systems not only makes body hair removal so much quicker, it saves time and your clients, especially first-time leg waxing clients, will love the excellent finished result.

A great waxing strip will not fray or tend to pull apart as fabric strips do. It is strong but flexible to remove wax in contours on legs, bikini and under arm areas and gentle to use on facial hair.

Here are my tips for first time leg waxing customers. Remember, they will be anxious so you need to be sensitive, reassuring and very efficient.

It is good to explain the growth cycle of the hair. A normal hair follicle has a growth spurt every three weeks and the idea is to pull it out by the roots in the fourth week, so leg waxing is usually done every 4 to 5 weeks. Eventually hair growth lessens and because a new hair is growing it is soft and appears finer. No more bristles.

The hair should be at least 5mm long. I know those who have previously shaved their legs think any hair on them is gross, but if you can encourage them to leave the shaving for preferably 3 weeks before waxing, the first results will be far better. I suggest to them to do this in winter so they can hide their legs wile the hair is growing. Ask them to exfoliate their legs before their appointment and not to put any oil or body cream on that day. If they have, you can put surgical powder on the area to help the waxing strip adhere to the wax.
Removing the first strip is likely to be the most painful so I start the process on the lower outside of the leg where it is least sensitive. With a spatula, spread the wax in small sections in the direction of the hair growth. Hold the spatula at a 90 degree angle and apply a smooth, thin layer. Before the wax cools, fold the top of the waxing strip over by about 3cm and with the folded end away from you, firmly press the waxing strip onto the waxed area in the direction of the hair growth with your hand.
Firmly grip the folded end and quickly and smoothly, peel it in the opposite direction of the hair growth towards you. Keep the strip as close to the skin as possible and try not to lift upwards. This is less painful and prevents the hair from breaking. Apply hand pressure straight away to take away the sting. Apply an after wax lotion to prevent ingrown hairs and to soothe the skin.

Excess wax can be removed with a body oil containing essential oils.
