Daily Devotionals for Women

When you were a child, did you ever have someone say something mean to you and you retorted with "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"? Probably most of us have and likely most of us did not believe it when we said it then, nor do we believe it now. We said that to help ease the hurt and perhaps make the speaker feel badly about having been mean to us. Nevertheless, the words stung and likely remained in our memory for a good while afterward, right?

It has been my experience, unfortunately, that words can be very hurtful and sometimes more so than physical encounters. Words have power, for sure, yet it is our decision as to how we accept others' words, as well as how we tender our words toward others. Additionally, it is our choice the impact others' words will have on us and conversely, it is our choice the impact our words will have on others. Powerful things, words, regardless of how they are used or how they are meant.

It is for these reasons and because I am a woman, that I read, study and try to absorb daily devotionals geared toward my gender. These devotionals are generally written by women of faith for all and any women, regardless of faith, of no particular faith or of no faith whatsoever. They are written to encourage us, help us, guide us, teach us, humor us and uplift us. Generally written by Christian, Bible believing, faithful women, these devotionals almost always contain a Bible verse that is suitable for the topic or a prayer relating to what has been written. In any case, these devotionals will help with nearly any situation if a person is so inclined to open-mindedly read and try to understand what the words are attempting to express.

It has been my experience that when I am headed to the "low-self-worth" side of town, reading a devotional never fails to encourage me, uplift me, educate me and sometimes even cause me to laugh. I have never failed to leave the "low-self-worth" side of town for the "Jesus-loves-me" side of town after reading a devotional, whether written by a woman of faith or sometimes by a man of faith.

It is through these readings and by the grace of God, that I am now called to and able to write devotionals for women, although some men have read them as well. The blessing is mine, the honor is mine, but the glory belongs to God for the gift He has given me, the opportunity He has put before me and the time He has allowed me to do this. He has also given me the Holy Bible, from which comes my foundation, underpinning and supply.

Should you choose to begin reading women's daily devotionals, whether written by me or someone else, I pray you will find hope, comfort, encouragement, joy and peace in the Lord by the reading of them. Please feel free to visit my webpage, listed below to read further devotionals for women.

"Heavenly, gracious Father, I pray for those reading this article. May he or she find something of value, if not here, Father, then, in another devotional that gives You glory. In Jesus' name, Amen"
